To edit XMI file, we strongly recommend installing software that works with XMI files. Using tools such as XMI Online Editors gives less editing possibilities than software adapted to work with the XMI file format.
Please note that not every program that supports XMI will allow you to edit the file. Additional information about the XMI file extension can be found here.
This is the best way. Use any of the programs that support the XMI file to check if it allows you to edit the file. It's safest to download the software from the developer's website. Some file formats are just plain text files that you can open with Notepad. However, such manual editing of the XMI file or any other file may result in damage to the file. When you save the changes, you may no longer open the XMI file. It is safest to use software that was created to edit files in the XMI format.
