How to open SIR file?

SIR File Opener

The software referred to as SIR Opener allows you to freely work with SIR files, including opening their contents. If you have the appropriate software installed on your device, opening the SIR file should be done without any problems by double-clicking on the file's icon. After clicking on the SIR file icon, the operating system should open its content with the associated software. However, the problem is not always solved so quickly. Follow the steps of the instructions below to try to solve it.

Open SIR files in 9 steps

If the user comes across a file named Bitmap, but is unable to open it, the first thing to do is to take the following steps:

  1. The user must verify that the operating system used by him is compatible with the file Bitmap. If the user tries to open the file Bitmap on a system other than Windows, it may fail.
  2. No default XnView application in the system or will prevent you from opening SIR files. If there is no application that supports files with the extension SIR, it should be downloaded and installed on the system.
  3. Make sure that one of the XnView, programs is the default application for opening SIR files in the system. If not, open the dialog box with the properties of the Bitmap file and use the "Change" button on the "General" tab. Choose one of the XnView, applications to open the SIR files.
  4. Software programs that open SIR file extension

  5. If the Bitmap file has been downloaded from the Internet or copied from another medium, it may be corrupt. The XnView, programs will then not be able to open the Bitmap file. Try to download or copy the file again.
  6. The antivirus program can identify the virus with which the Bitmap file has been infected and at the same time blocks the opening of the file. Such a situation should not be underestimated and such a file should be deleted or moved to quarantine, and the entire system should be scanned.
  7. The Bitmap file may be saved in a way that is no longer supported. The application the user is trying to open the file in may not be backwards compatible and this prevents Bitmap from opening.
  8. To open the Bitmap file, the current version of the program in which we want to open it is required. In this case, it is necessary to verify the version of your software to handle SIR files and, if necessary, update it to the latest version.
  9. Sometimes the user unknowingly tries to open a file with a shortcut that points to a place where the file is no longer there (it may have been previously deleted).
  10. The system administrator has restricted the opening and modification of certain files, which in this case may include Bitmap.
