How to view ASC file?

Sometimes you just need to see what is in the ASC file, without having to perform more complicated operations. Then do not install dedicated software and use tools such as ASC Viewer. Such a program allows us only to display the contents of the ASC file. You have several options to view the contents of the ASC file:

Software supporting ASC files

Our ASC Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else The first is to download the software that supports ASC files You can try to open your ASC file with one of these applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the ASC file and sometimes even convert the ASC file.

What are the pros and cons of such a solution?

First of all, you need to know that you need to install specific software that supports ASC files on your computer. In this case, it is not possible to view the ASC file online. Here you will need more time to use this solution, but you will also have more options. Below you will find a list of example applications that are dedicated to working with the ASC file - for the full list go to ASC File Opener

Other options

If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the ASC file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. Many file types are simply text files or data archives. In this case, you can try to open your ASC file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension ASC.

The second attempt may be with a data archiving program. Check if you can open your file with eg Winrar. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the ASC file extension.
