If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the CTB file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, it is likely that you will be able to view the contents of CTB with a normal "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the CTB file to some extent.

The second way is to use a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If your CTB file belongs to the archived files category, you will see a list of files inside the archive.
