Sometimes you just need to see what is in the ICON file, without having to perform more complicated operations. Then do not install dedicated software and use tools such as ICON Viewer. Such a program allows us only to display the contents of the ICON file. You have several options to view the contents of the ICON file:
Our ICON Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else For starters, we suggest installing software that supports ICON files Below are some examples of verified applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the ICON file and sometimes even convert the ICON file.
Note, however, that this solution requires you to download and install the software dedicated to handling the ICON file on your device. In this case, it is not possible to view the ICON file online. Here you will need more time to use this solution, but you will also have more options. You can find some examples of dedicated software below, and the full list is here ICON File Opener
If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the ICON file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. If this is the case, you can try to preview the contents of ICON file with "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the ICON file to some extent.
The second attempt may be with a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. If you don't know what type of ICON file is, learn more about ICON file extension.
