Many file types are simply text files or data archives. In this case, you can try to open your ILM file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the ILM file to some extent.

The second way is to use a data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If your ILM file belongs to the archived files category, you will see a list of files inside the archive.
