Other possibilities to view the contents of the JPEG file

If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the JPEG file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. In this case, you can try to open your JPEG file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the JPEG file to some extent.

The second attempt may be with a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If your JPEG file belongs to the archived files category, you will see a list of files inside the archive. Go to the information page about the JPEG file extension. to see what kind of data it contains.
