How to view LAYOUT file?

It often happens that you only need to preview the contents of the LAYOUT file, without the need to edit or process the data contained in it. Then do not install dedicated software and use tools such as LAYOUT Viewer. Such a program allows us only to display the contents of the LAYOUT file. To view the content of the LAYOUT file, select one of the available options:

Software programs supporting files with LAYOUT extension

Our LAYOUT Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else One of them is to use software that works with the LAYOUT file. Below are some examples of verified applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the LAYOUT file and sometimes even convert the LAYOUT file.

Advantages and disadvantages of this solution

Note, however, that this solution requires you to download and install the software dedicated to handling the LAYOUT file on your device. In this situation, unfortunately, you cannot see the LAYOUT file online. Here you will need more time to use this solution, but you will also have more options. Below you will find a list of example applications that are dedicated to working with the LAYOUT file - for the full list go to LAYOUT File Opener

Other ways to view the LAYOUT file

If you still cannot see the contents of the LAYOUT file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, you can try to open your LAYOUT file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the LAYOUT file to some extent.

As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the LAYOUT file extension.
