Sometimes you just need to see what is in the MIDI file, without having to perform more complicated operations. In this case, it is enough that you use the so-called MIDI Viewer. Such a program allows us only to display the contents of the MIDI file. To view the content of the MIDI file, select one of the available options:
Our MIDI Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else One of them is to use software that works with the MIDI file. You can try to open your MIDI file with one of these applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the MIDI file and sometimes even convert the MIDI file.
The first important thing is that you will need to download and install a dedicated application that supports the MIDI format on your device. In this case, it is not possible to view the MIDI file online. This method is more complicated, but it offers more possibilities for working with the MIDI file. You can find some examples of dedicated software below, and the full list is here MIDI File Opener
You haven't seen the content of your MIDI file yet and you don't need additional software? Try other options. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. In this case, you can try to open your MIDI file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the MIDI file to some extent.
The second attempt may be with a data archiving program. Check if you can open your file with eg Winrar. If our theory proves to be correct, you should see the tree of files contained in the archive. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the MIDI file extension.
