If you still cannot see the contents of the WSMDI file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, it is likely that you will be able to view the contents of WSMDI with a normal "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the WSMDI file to some extent.

The second way is to use a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If our theory proves to be correct, you should see the tree of files contained in the archive.
