To edit ST3 file, we strongly recommend installing software that works with ST3 files. Using tools such as ST3 Online Editors gives less editing possibilities than software adapted to work with the ST3 file format.

This is definitely the surest way. Try to open the ST3 file with one of the programs and it will see if you can edit the ST3 file. It's safest to download the software from the developer's website. You will find links to the software developers' websites on the subpage of each program. Below you will find some examples of software programs that support the ST3 file (so it is very possible that they can edit files in ST3 format).

Most of the file formats are simply text format saved under a different extension - so you can open them e.g. with Windows Notepad But beware - making manual changes to the ST3 file or another may result in its damage.
