Sometimes you just need to see what is in the GEDCOM file, without having to perform more complicated operations. Then do not install dedicated software and use tools such as GEDCOM Viewer. This type of tool is nothing more than a program or an online application that allows you to easily view the content of the data stored in the GEDCOM file. To view the content of the GEDCOM file, select one of the available options:

Note, however, that this solution requires you to download and install the software dedicated to handling the GEDCOM file on your device. If you still cannot see the contents of the GEDCOM file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. Many file types are simply text files or data archives. In this case, you can try to open your GEDCOM file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension GEDCOM.
As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If our theory proves to be correct, you should see the tree of files contained in the archive. Go to the information page about the GEDCOM file extension. to see what kind of data it contains.
