If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the GMS file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, it is likely that you will be able to view the contents of GMS with a normal "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the GMS file to some extent.

As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file.
