There are times when you only need to display the contents of the GPL file. Then the tools called GPL Viewer come in handy. This type of tool is nothing more than a program or an online application that allows you to easily view the content of the data stored in the GPL file. You have several options to view the contents of the GPL file:
Our GPL Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else One of them is to use software that works with the GPL file. You can try to open your GPL file with one of these applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the GPL file and sometimes even convert the GPL file.
Note, however, that this solution requires you to download and install the software dedicated to handling the GPL file on your device. In this case, it is not possible to view the GPL file online. This method is more complicated, but it offers more possibilities for working with the GPL file. You can find some examples of dedicated software below, and the full list is here GPL File Opener
If you still cannot see the contents of the GPL file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, it is likely that you will be able to view the contents of GPL with a normal "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the GPL file to some extent.
The second way is to use a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the GPL file extension.
