If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the GPX file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. In this case, it is likely that you will be able to view the contents of GPX with a normal "Notepad". This solution does not guarantee that the problem will be solved, but it will often allow you to view the data in the GPX file to some extent.
As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip.
