If you still cannot see the contents of the KGM file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. Many file types are simply text files or data archives. In this case, you can try to open your KGM file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the KGM file to some extent.

The second way is to use a data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If our theory proves to be correct, you should see the tree of files contained in the archive.
