Sometimes you just need to see what is in the SFX file, without having to perform more complicated operations. Then do not install dedicated software and use tools such as SFX Viewer. Such a program allows us only to display the contents of the SFX file. To view the content of the SFX file you can use several options:
Our SFX Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else The first is to download the software that supports SFX files Here are some sample programs that can help you. By using the dedicated software you will have more options, e.g. editing the SFX file or converting the SFX file to a different file format.
First of all, you need to know that you need to install specific software that supports SFX files on your computer. Unfortunately, it is not possible to see the SFX file online in this case. This solution is more problematic, but also allows for more processing options for the SFX file. You can find some examples of dedicated software below, and the full list is here SFX File Opener
If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the SFX file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. In this case, you can try to open your SFX file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the SFX file to some extent.
The second way is to use a data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the SFX file extension.
