If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the STMX file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, you can try to open your STMX file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension STMX.

As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. If you don't know what type of STMX file is, learn more about STMX file extension.
