If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the MODPAK file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. If this is the case, you can try to preview the contents of MODPAK file with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension MODPAK.

The second attempt may be with a data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file.
