If you haven't been able to preview the contents of the MPS file yet, or you don't want to install any dedicated programming to handle these files, you can try something else. Many file types are simply text files or data archives. In this case, you can try to open your MPS file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension MPS.

As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If your MPS file belongs to the archived files category, you will see a list of files inside the archive.
