It often happens that you only need to preview the contents of the NMEA file, without the need to edit or process the data contained in it. Then the tools called NMEA Viewer come in handy. This type of tool is nothing more than a program or an online application that allows you to easily view the content of the data stored in the NMEA file. To view the content of the NMEA file, select one of the available options:
If our NMEA Viewer Online did not help you, you have a few more options. For starters, we suggest installing software that supports NMEA files Below are some examples of verified applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the NMEA file and sometimes even convert the NMEA file.
The first important thing is that you will need to download and install a dedicated application that supports the NMEA format on your device. In this case, it is not possible to view the NMEA file online. This solution is more problematic, but also allows for more processing options for the NMEA file. You can find some examples of dedicated software below, and the full list is here NMEA File Opener
You haven't seen the content of your NMEA file yet and you don't need additional software? Try other options. A lot of file formats contain plain text data or packed data. If this is the case, you can try to preview the contents of NMEA file with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension NMEA.
The second way is to use a data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the NMEA file extension.
