Sometimes you just need to see what is in the QGIS file, without having to perform more complicated operations. In this case, it is enough that you use the so-called QGIS Viewer. QGIS viewer is some kind of simple tool that only allows you to view the contents of the QGIS file. To view the content of the QGIS file, select one of the available options:
QGIS viewer did not handle your file? Take advantage of other options One of them is to use software that works with the QGIS file. You can try to open your QGIS file with one of these applications. If you choose to install software that supports QGIS, you will have additional oppositions, such as converting the QGIS file or editing the QGIS file.
First of all, you need to know that you need to install specific software that supports QGIS files on your computer. In this case, it is not possible to view the QGIS file online. This solution is more problematic, but also allows for more processing options for the QGIS file. Below you will find a list of example applications that are dedicated to working with the QGIS file - for the full list go to QGIS File Opener
You haven't seen the content of your QGIS file yet and you don't need additional software? Try other options. Many file types are simply text files or data archives. If this is the case, you can try to preview the contents of QGIS file with "Notepad". I can at least to some extent let you see the contents of the file with the extension QGIS.
As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Try to open your file with e.g. Winrar or Winzip. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. If you don't know what type of QGIS file is, learn more about QGIS file extension.
